The 2016 International
Symposium on Agriculture Brand Development opened in Beijing on November 26, 2016. Vice Minister Qu Dongyu, Mr. Vincent Martin, FAO Representative to China, DPRK and Mongolia, and Mr. Zhu Baocheng, Chairman of China Good Agri-products Development & Service Association (CGAPA) attended and addressed the opening ceremony.
Vice Minister Qu underlined that The Chinese government has attached great importance to agriculture brand development.
As the Belt and Road Initiative has witnessed increasing influence and acceptance in the international community, we are going to carry forward the time-honored Silk Road Spirit.
MOA is ready to capitalize on good practices and sophisticated experience in brand development, and provide support to China's agricultural NGOs, enterprises and new-type professional farmers to enhance exchanges and cooperation with partners of other countries.
In his keynote speech, Mr. Zhu said that under the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative, the development of agriculture brand international cooperation will facilitate China's supply side structural reform in agriculture, and promote the international profile and market muscle of China's agriculture.
The Symposium included three round-tables, namely, Openness, inclusiveness and benefits sharing: building a global service platform; S&T innovation promotes brand internationalization; Brand
consumption increases multilateral trade.
The Symposium was officially announced open by the World Union of Agriculture Associations (WUAA), an organization jointly established by CGAPA and competent groups of agricultural sector from six other countries.
